How to check a lender in SIPRES without getting confused
What a registration does prove, what it does not prove, and how to match it to the legal entity in your contract.
SIPRES is a directory of financial institutions. It is not a seal proving that an app, a specific offer, or a salesperson is safe.
Search for the entity, not the brand
Copy the full legal name from the contract. A brand may operate through another entity or be impersonated by third parties.
Match the contact details
The domain, phone number, and address should match official channels. Be cautious with shortened links or unsolicited WhatsApp requests.
Review the contract too
When applicable, check RECA for the contract model. Confirm that the number, product, and entity match your disclosure sheet.
